You should deffo have the micro filter/pollen filter. :? I'm guessing because Bloo has had her/his first MOT it is now out of warranty for the dealer to take a look. Maybe they will give you a good will as it's only out by a few weeks.

As for the emissions, I'm guessing that as the emissions test is part of the MOT in the UK it was removed. Maybe when mine was new the items installed weren't country specific.

Nope. I don't have the pollen/Micro filter icon seriously... she is a 2009 120D and has not had her first MOT yet, due in March.

BMW changed the schedule for the microfilter and just do it with every oil change now so it doesn't get its own service light on newer models.

I only get the following on my 58 plate 118D:

Brake Fluid
Front Brakes
Rear Brakes
Engine Oil
Service Check

Never seen the MOT light. My servicing is done by an independent garage with BMW approval, not a dealer.

My Mircofilter light is slightly different to the one in Lee's post.

It looks more like the 'Diesel Filter' symbol, but with a fan above it?

does the mileage figure count down on something that needs servicing ?

If so when it reaches the date or mileage the the OBC prompt you ?

Yup. Everytime you turn it on the OBC will prompt you with the next thing that needs attention, and in how many miles.

By the way as my MOT is due Nov 12, can I manually reset the warning to then (as it's now showing red)?

Does the belt on the front of the engine ever need replacing?

Yes

Also - the emissions test can just be reset as its not required in the uk
If it's got breasts or wheels - it's going to give you trouble

The serpentine belt? Yeah, when it gets old. It will usually squeal on start up when it's drying out.
