I have a rather annoying rattle when cold - semi cold, at idle (if accelerator is pressed and revs raised just 50-100rpm noise goes away)
It occured when i had the gearbox oil changed, hence the middle cover under the car was removed.
I've tried loosening the cover, but no lock.
Diesel-fuel filter was also changed......wonder if a fuelline or something is tapping at the body....

Anyone ?

It comes from both sides annoyingly, and I've not tried to fix it yet. I was debating using WD40 down the gap but am worried about damaging the dash itself... It does stop rattling if you push on the base of the A pillar. Don't want to remove this, as it's got the Airbag in the top of it! Anyone any idea's?

Thanks

I have this too, I'd appreciate any ideas as it drives me mental

I have exactly the same rattle from the bottom of my drivers side a-pillar on an '06 130i. Anyone makes any headway with this I'd be interested. Too busy to go problem solving myself for a month or so but if no ones done it by then I'll have a look. Wouldnt mind some sort of manual to let me know what it is.

Urgh, when I bought the car no rattles! Now both front doors, the A pillar, plus creaks from the door!

Only thing that really disappoints me about the car

my cars dash seems to rattle once as I start the car. Also if I do a but of a jerky pull away while cold. Is this just the torque of the engine shaking the car as it doesn't happen any other time?

Mate, if you are refering to the car juddering as you pull away you are one of the many 1 series owners that have it.

Please, I need a help, I'm completely mad of my squeaking 2005 120d.

I tried the very expensive genuine BMW lube for window seals, but it worked just a little bit and only for few days.

Is anybody in his E87 listening to same shitty sound like I do?

I took a video of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPkrnlYnPII

My car has really loud rattles where the A pillar joins the dash. Anyone found a solution to this? Mine is 06 pre-facelift
