Protection from bird Poo?
Hi,
Have just moved house and car parking is under a large tree which seems to be full of birds who delight in crapping on the cars!
What can I best protect the paintwork with, or apply to make it easier to get the crap off?
Thanks

A falcon?
I don't think there's much out there that protects paint from bird sh*t, it seems to burn through everything if you don't get it removed sharpish. Perhaps a wrap but I've never seen one that didn't look naff.

I guess I'll just need to keep the hose out and spray the car off each morning!

We have problems with pigeons at my place of work. My company hired a bird of prey handler to come in and clear the flying rats. That did the trick for a short while. The pigeons got coy and did learn when we stopped using the Falcon and returned. Only real solution is to remove the tree.

Speaking of bird poo, the other day what I assume to be the world's biggest bird family took three shits on my rear. Regret I didn't take a photo, but imagine it something like this but even nastier.

Unfortunately though there's not really much you can do unless you remove the tree as said above.

If only it were that simple.
Bonnet, front and back screens, tops of doors all cop it!

I like the idea of a Falcon - but as you say the Pigeons get wise.Meerkat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2017 3:35 pmWe have problems with pigeons at my place of work. I quite like the tree - it gives useful shade in the afternoon.
Perhaps I'll get a good sealant on the paint and see how this goes.

I know some of the ceramic coatings advertise guarantees against damage caused by bird poo and tree sap but i find it hard to believe they'd ever pay out if it failed and they're pricey to get applied professionally.
