Insurance but no docs??

Post by EB2429 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:15 pm

Tried Sky insurance to see what they are like, as i normally use morris trackday insurance.

First thoughts are... its not the start I was hoping for

No confirmation email sent through and nothing in junk or spam folders (yes i checked), so at the moment i don't have anything to say i actually have insurance. Not a big problem, simple solution is to email them on the website. But the email address on the contacts page doesn't even open an email, but takes you back to the front page.

Not really that confident i will get the service i need in the even of an accident on the basis of my first experience on the site...

Also no 20% discount is offered to babybmw.net members for track day cover - it does say on this sponsors board "a 20% discount is offered to babybmw.net members"

BTW they did take the money efficiently

The discount we offer is up to 20% for annual policies, this is not for our trackday insurance product.

Documents are emailed straight away.

Please PM me your surname and postcode so I can look into your feedback. P{ease also confirm your email address in the PM.

Thanks

EB2429, i seem to be having the same problems with Sky insurance.

Contacted them last week to get my policy moved to my new car, they took over £80 to do this and promised my new insurance document would be delivered before today (Saturday) as im leaving for France tomorrow morning in the car. Asked if i could have it emailed and that hasn't arrived either.

So, no insurance docs for a weeks driving abroad. Great!!

Our post just arrived, no documents and now Sky are closed until Monday.

So far the service has been shocking, Never again will i use Sky and i wouldn't recommended anyone else to. In fact BMW beat Sky's quote and they were offering a much more comprehensive cover.

Was the £80 an administration cost or an increase on your premium.

bit of both i think, but it takes my premium way over what i have been quoted elsewhere. BMW and my business insurance broker were both over £100 cheaper with better cover and extras. We are supposed to get a 20% discount with sky being part of babybmw so if that is included (i asked but got a very vague response) they Sky are 30% more expensive than BMW insurance for me anyway.,

Nobody seems to like calling people these days. It's far more effective than emailing when needing a quick resolution.
