Wolfrace X10 / MAK Luft (Black) for M140i MG?

Post by glen8 » Wed May 17, 2017 9:21 am

Would these look nice?

http://www.wolfrace.com/product/wolfrac ... ing-black/

I've heard some alloys are lighter than others, but not sure how much these weight, or even how much the standard alloys weight

The reason I like these, is that they seem to look bigger than they are when fitted. I'm also going to get a carbon spoiler and splitter

Assume the correct size is 18x8 ET40

Thanks

Glen,

Yes either 8" et40mm or more aggressive et34mm would work F&R

If wanting to get a staggered setup - 3 options which give you the option of staying with oem tyre sizes F&R or putting rear tyres 245/35/18 on the front and moving up to 255/35/18 at the rear

1. F 8" et 43mm + R 8.5" et 50mm
http://www.wolfrace.com/wheel_info/?cha ... rear=69554

2. more aggressive fitment - similar to my set up see photo lowered with F8x arms - likely to be more concaved face than above

F 8" et 34mm
R 8.5" et 46mm

3. - combo of less aggressive front with same rear as # 2 above

F 8" et 40mm and R 8.5" et 46mm

Can't afford to change my tyres, so assume ET34 would be best?

They are heavier than the stock alloys by 460g per wheel

Glen,

Good shout - I ran oem style 397's 8" et34mm all round with F 225/40/18 & R 245/35/18 on lowered suspension and longer F8x lower arms up front - as per photo below - it was fine

Look fwd to seeing the pictures of yr x10's, once installed - curious to see how concave yr x10 wheel faces are.

I've just had a phone call regarding my order. They are telling me the wolfrace alloys are not in the same league quality wise as the original BMWs :?

Well what a performance I've had this afternoon!

Phoned wolfrace direct and the X10 is part of their GB range which is made in the same factory as ATS (they are German TUV approved), so they say they are easily as good as the BMW alloys.

anyway, I've ordered them.....which was another issue. The ET34s are rare as hens teeth, but they have sourced me a set for first week in June (got my name on them).

Phew!

The one said that the Wolfrace is worse than the 436M's don't know what he's talking about... If that's the case I would rather suggest using steel rims :P

I didn't realise Wolfrace were still going.

Years ago they used to be some of the cheapest wheels on the market and the quality was reflected in that.

Hopefully they have improved since then.

The GB range are very good quality, but I think the rest might be a bit cheap and cheerful

I think I've seen that picture before, isn't that Rial X10? Or are they actually the same rim as Wolfrace X10?

They are the same, the wolfrace GB range are made in the same German factory. Rial is the German name.

I see.

After looking around I found the Rial's to be available as staggered 8x18 ET34 and 8.5x18 ET46 which would suit a 225/255 setup nicely.
