Newer run flat tyres better?

Post by Greg.W » Sun Nov 12, 2017 8:00 pm

Hey folks

Trading my 1 series in next week for a 4 series. Will be sad to see it go but I'm excited for the change.

Anyway it needs 3 out of the 4 tyres replaced. I have asked bmw if they would fit non run flats instead and I'd pay for the 4th. I'm waiting to hear from their tyre technician tomorrow to see what he says.

But the salesman did say that the newer rfts are just as good as non rfts now?

I've read countless threads on here about ditching rfts. But are they now better and OK to fit? I don't know what to do as they'll be on the car for the next 2 years or so and aren't cheap to change.

Cheers
Greg

Do not fit run flats what ever you do, it will ruin the ride.

I've just had a call from them, they can't fit non rfts. It's bmw policy for a car to be sold as it came from factory. So it's getting new rfts fitted now 😭
