We've just purchased our first 1 Series.. an M140. Living where we do, we tend to get quite a bit of snow over the winter, so we need to get some winter tyres sorted asap.
Initial plans was for some 225/40/18 winters to the standard wheels, but after reading the threads on here, I'm now looking at some X1 17" steels..
Am I right in thinking any 17" steel for the E84 X1 will fit - i.e. 7.5x17 ET34 all round - presume these are the correct ones to clear the front brakes.
Also, tyres sizes for these - is it 225/45 or 225/50 to look at? Sure i read /45...but eBay.de seems to have loads with /50 fitted to them!
Read threads on here recommending the X1 steels, and found a thread over on pistonheads showing someone with black steels on a '66 plate M140, but unsure of the specs on them!
Sorry to try and hijack thread but does anyone know if 284 wheels 8Jx17 et34 would fit all around on an M240i, I've tried reading previous posts but struggling to understand. Thanks
