8J ET50 would be perfect IMO

What tyres size are you running up front?
Do you suffer from any rubbing?

I’m currently on m sport shocks with eibach pro springs, I plan to fit m3 arms in the future, I don’t really want to run spacers and I’m slowly leaning towards a 8” front wheel to avoid running but unfortunately apex don’t make 18x8 so it means finding another wheel I like Image

Hello mate, yes they are Michelin Pilot super sports 225/40/18.

I’m on M sport suspension with M3 LCA’s, front offset is 8.5J ET45. I can’t say for 100%, but if I lowered mine 30mm on eibachs pros I’d rub.

Yeah 8J might be better. My 8.5J ET45 against for example 8J ET39 will have exactly the same poke, but will be 12mm further away from the strut.

I’d say you’d be safe with 8J and ET 45-51

I have 225/40 18 mps4 on my pre lci 208m wheels atm, I was hoping to run a 235 on the 8.5” but I really don’t think it’s going to work. Your wheels are he exact spec or the apex wheels, 18x8.5 et45, apparently 1 series specific but I really believe that a 8” front would be far better for fitment on a 1er, Shame, looks like I’m going to have to find another wheel lol, I think I’ll fit m3 lca first and go from there.

I don’t think I’ll try to match the poke of an 8.5” et45 with an 8” as I’ll only run into the same issues when running m3 arms by rubbing the outter arch, possible a 45 I’ll have to take measurements and work it out when the arms are on.

Wouldn’t a 10mm spacer make it fit better at a et35? Thought this was ideal offset for an 8.5” wheel up front? I am Hoping to run 8.5” with 245s one day. Other option is to fit studs and run a 5mm spacer for et40? Another option is that Ca international sell some hub extenders for use when using non hub centric spacers like 3 or 5mm. So you could play around with your chosen wheels a bit.

So you want 10mm MORE poke? So my photos explained nothing? That, or you didn’t even read or look. I think you’re having trouble understanding offsets and how they actually work and look.

Where does it say this please?

Up front? FML so you’ll have an 8.5J ET35 with a 245/40 tyre? Haha Well good luck when you turn left or right and go full lock.

So you don’t think it’ll work thenImageImage your photos didn’t really show the important inner arch detail and to my eye it looked like it had room from those pics. Would be interested so see one of the inner arch clearance if you have it available.

What they certainly showed is that the inner clearance will likely be too tight for anyone running coilovers. My et40 8” are already tight to the spring perch so that offset will likely foul with an 8.5” et40 rim going another 6.25mm closer, thus likely requiring a 35 offset to clear the spring. And yes, 245 Square is my aim. I’m committed to finding the widest Square set up I can make fit. It’s a challenge.

Rustle,
I’m running 8.5j et40 fronts and the rim is flush with the arch lip... My 225/40 tyres do not rub but there’s also not much room to go wider

Had a quick look last night as I had a spare 5 mins at work, the stock clearance from the shock isn’t massive anyway, albeit not as close as twenny’s but still close. I think I’ll get away with a 8” 225/235, going to move a rear wheel to the front at some point to experiment, the offset will probably be wrong but it will give me an idea. I’ll add now I don’t want to have to roll my arches or run stretch, 225 on a 8.5 is too much for me.Image

Well this is my arch liner -
Image
As you can see, very gentle scuffs on the left from full lock right that’s just taken the dirt off (you can actually see my finger swipe across the liner top left and the liner is not scuffed) But it’s close. Very close. Close enough that I think a 235/40 would scrub a hole through my pissing arch liner.

Yeah exactly mate defo no wider. Although strange Bish you have 225/40 and an extra 5mm poke but no rubbing on the arch liner. Maybe different tyres? Mine are MPSS. Was thinking my next tyres would be the Goodyear Assym 3’s 235/40 but don’t think I’ll have the room. Bugger.

Just the camber pin mod at the moment Rustle...
But I’ve got some of Ian’s v2 camber plates to go on (when I fit the Billy B12’s) 8)
Then I might switch the Zito’s for some AG359M as they are et35 fronts

Hey mate,
No deffo no rubbing on the liner (even with semi-slicks)...
I’ve not got the M3 lca’s that you have though
