RDC Failure following tyre replacement

Post by AJ_ » Tue Apr 10, 2018 6:19 pm

Evening guys,

Last week I ditched the GY Eagle F1 Asym 2 RFT’s and had Michelin PS4’s fitted all round. Happy days. Once fitted, I performed a reset and RDC was happy, showing roughly 38 PSI on the fronts and roughly 35 PSI on the rears on the iDrive. On four occasions now I’ve had a RDC Failure come up flashing on the dash, which soon stops flashing and is replaced by a constant warning light. On one occasion it fixed itself without any intervention but on the other three occurrences, I’ve performed a reset and then it appears good again for a while.

Anyone experienced anything like this? I never had this before the tyres were replaced.

Any advise or suggestions welcomed.

Cheers for your reply. I suspected as much but was hoping it wasn’t, as I know they can function correctly but intermittently. Any idea how to identify which sensor/tyre?

Does anyone know how to identify which tyre/wheel has a dodgy sensor?

Where is the best place to source a new valve & sensor? Dealer? What’s the approximate cost?

When I last had a slow puncture all I initially got was a useless message which filled the whole screen. Took a few random button presses before it would let me back into the RDC screen to actually see which one had the nail in it. Not at all user friendly, but it was possible in the end.

Otherwise, plug it it, the codes should tell you which wheel.
