My wheels have now been fitted and will post pictures when I've had chance to fit centre caps and clean car.

Quick question my car is 118d F21 2013 Sport (Non m-sport) fitted with Ebeich Pro Kit and no other suspension mods. When getting alignment was done the VIN was looked up and they asked whether I had standard or sport suspension as they had different settings. At the time I didn't give it much thought and said Sport. Was that the right option for my car?

Sport sounds best to me, you don't want it set-up like an SE.

Okay great. Thanks for all the help Marco and others.

Very happy with the look of the wheels and will post soon. Handling much improved too due to the bigger tyres, switch away from run flats and lighter wheels.

One thing I did notice instantly is an increase in the ride height. The tyres went from 225/45/17 to 225/40/18 so working out the overall height it's only a 5mm increase I think. It's defiantly a lot bigger than that am I missing something? Maybe the new tyres with more tread compared to tyres taken off on on legal limit.

A brand new 225/40/18 is basically the same size as a brand new 225/45/17, less than 3mm difference.

As you say, tread wear can make a visible difference, and tyres do have a size tolerance like anything else.

Waiting on my set of 442M's to arrive next week. Not many F21's with these fitted from what I've seen:

Any recommendations on tyre sizing? I'm thinking 225/35/19 front and either 245/30/19 or 255/30/19 rear...

Is anyone able to tell me if BOLA B9's or Bola CSR's will clear the M performance calipers on my M140i? Going for 18" 8J ET40 all round on either set.

Just going to use stock Mpss tyres too.
Ordered some matt black 8x18 ET40 Bola CSR's today.....will only get them late next week so not sure when i'll be able to get the tyres (stock MPSS) swapped over but i'll put pics up once i do.

If the image really shows a 8J rim, that concave, imho you will have problems with ET40.

Hoping to be wrong...

That's probably the 9", the 8 is obviously less concave. There is people running the 8" all round fine.

Hello all I am getting a M140i.
I still have some wheels from my old e82 135i and was contemplating using them.

I was thinking of using the michelins that come with the car, so specs would be

Front: 18x8.5 et35 with 225/40/18
Rear: 18x9.5 et50 with 245/35/18

My calcs say the wheels will poke 22.7mm front and 21.1mm rear compared to stock.
Too much on stock suspension?
Will it be ok as the tyres will be slightly stretched?
Quick test fit and looks like it should work.
Current R888s tyres are a little chunky, should have loads of room if I put the smaller michelins on them.

These worked out bang on flush with the guards.
I put on the stock michelins and there is a bit more stretch than I hoped but not full stance works style.

Now what to do about that wheel gap. Has anyone used a 245/40r18 in the rear?
Speedo will be 3.7% out but will close the gap 12mm.
