Post by Boombap » Thu Nov 02, 2017 8:48 pm

I have a 2006 130i, will I be able to fit LCI xenon headlights without any issues?
Part number for the left side light is:
63117170293

Yes. You will need to upgrade your FRM to FRM2 XE or FRM3 XE/MAX.
Some wiring changes are needed at the headlight and FRM ends.
You also need to code the FRM.

Thanks bjt, I have also purchased a frm2 xe now.

I see you did not install the auto levelling feature, I can see why as it require a lot of extra parts!

AFAIK the level sensor and wash system aren't required legally?

They're not required to pass an MOT. Been through one since fitting and it wasn't even mentioned.

With the correct coding the manual level control still works so you can correct for towing/heavy loads in the boot.

Will the following driver side light work with the passenger one I have already?

63117263648

It's also LCI but I can't be sure, maybe should have waited for a pair.

Don't see why not, the only difference is LCI/pre-LCI and for the LCI lights, eyebrow/non-eyebrow which is easy to tell from a photo.

Yeah I noticed that part was different, so refrained from buying.

Managed to source a pair now,

Will I be able to test them just using the existing connectors?

Or will new FRM be needed which I also have

Edit: at present using existing FRM, only the indicators work :P
