Headlights for depo V2's

Post by thisistaylerhughes » Sun Jun 24, 2018 9:35 pm

How's it going everyone,

Just purchased some depo V2's and should be here next week, I had found out that light visibility is not that great with standard bulbs.

Do you need to HID's for a decent light output or has the technology in LED headlight bulbs came along way?

I'd prefer to go down the LED route as it's a lot simpler to fit, but if there no good I'll pay to get HID's fitted.

Would anyone be able to post their beam patterns for me as well please?

The projectors are made for halogens IIRC, so putting a HID kit in them will be illegal and an MOT fail, or it should be under the new rules but it depends on your tester.

If I was you, I'd get the projectors swapped to HID projectors and use a HID kit. Don't just put HID's behind the halogen projectors, you'll blind people.

That beam pattern isn’t standard Depo v2 (halogen) projector. They’re bixenon projectors, right...?

Hi Twenny, I've seen you in the forum before. I believe you live close to me (Bexleyheath)

Can I ask what HID's you have in your depos?

Hahaha okay, I might go down to in car solutions and ask for their opinion and quote. I'd much rather get HID's done professionally then do it myself.

Thanks mate

Original Depos have halogen projectors.
Toby (cowboy) would have used HID projectors.

HID's in halogen projectors are illegal and an MOT fail but whether you ACTUALLY fail on this is another story.

I wouldn't bother, your output would be crap.
