E82 Darklines

Post by StevenCraig » Sat Jun 20, 2015 12:16 am

Got my E82 back in January but only now deciding I'd like a change, is it possible for me too or am I stuck with the current ones I already have?

I know there is two different types was just curious if I could change to the ones with the LED lines.

These are the ones I'd prefer :D

And these are my current :|

Do you have halogen headlights? And what year is your car?

Don't think the led version is a straight plug and play with non Xenon lights a bit of rewiring needs to be done.

I have made enquiries on this too, I think it will need the wiring adapters from BMW, they sell for something like £60-70 with delivery.

Haven't ever seen the wiring adapters on fleabay?

E82 Darklines

These are my high darklines in my 2010 E82 with halogen headlamps that were a straight plug and play when I took out the the original 3 strip LED rear lights.
However I'm confused as you already have the low version darklines so unsure what to suggest but maybe Stealth328 is right and some wiring may be needed.
Sure someone else can confirm or suggest what to next I'm sure.

I got this info when I spoke to Cotswolds about the cost of a set of Darklines, he came back and said that I would probably need this loom too.
Haven't been able to buy a set yet but hopefully I will soon!!

Yeah I was told that too Stealth328 by Cotswold but if you have the E82 or E88 coupe and 3 strip LED rear lights and halogen headlights they are 100% plug and play. Trust.

Yeah that's what I have, halogens and the rear lights with the three led strips on them.

That's saved me £70!

Cheers Twenny!

E82 Darklines

Post by Twenny » Sun Jun 21, 2015 10:13 pm

No worries. Takes 10 mins tops to fit both.
Shame we didn't speak sooner as a guy on here sold a pair darklines for a good price last week. Gutted.com

Forgot to reply I've been too busy :(

I guess there's only one way to find out if they'll work without any extra wiring

Cheers for the replies chaps!
