120d Remap and DPF/EGR delete

Hello there guys,
I bought a 2004 120d a while back and now i'm hunting for more power.
I live in norway, and here a remap will cost me £400 for a remap with no dyno, not great compared to what the UK guys get. I'm wondering what my options are, could someone remotley remap my car for less than that? is it worth taking it to england? my grandparents live in Cheltenham so anything on the way up would be on consideration.

Are DPF deletes worth it? not legal here so i'd have to put the old one back on for every inspection. How about EGR deletes, waht difference can i expect after the two? car has currently driven just over 120k miles, is that worth noting when tuning it?

also, i realise this is the wrong place to post but as i'm writing this up, does anyone have suggestions for new shocks, will be used for autocross and daily driving.

thank you for any and all help

-Simon

The uk 2004 cars didn't have a DPF (just a Catalytic converter), but I understand some European cars did. I'm not sure if yours will have a DPF, or not?

Once you've cleaned out your EGR body, a simple restrictor will keep it clean in future, without upsetting your ECU.

Your ECU shouldn't be encrypted, so a remote or DIY remap should be easy. I remapped my 2006 120d myself using a SuperChips Bluefin handset, although other similar devices are available.

Mine is from germany, not sure if that clears anything up?

How is the bluefin working out for you? according to their dyno it produces higher HP and Nm, but at a lower range, not sure how good that would be for autox. the price looks a fair bit lower than a remap would here.
thank you for good feedback.

EGR restrictor: viewtopic.php?t=52453

I had a Bluefin remap on my E87 for 70,000 miles without issue. With a Bluefin handset you can map it back to standard any time you like, if it's very slippery for example and you don't want the extra torque.

The egr can be set to closed all the time
By the ecus software
I would not recommend to remove the dpf as you will loose lower end power

Fair enough. Won't do that then. Swirl flaps are still recommend? I was under the impression it'll slightly reduce low end torque.

It could do but it's better then having to buy or repair your engine at over £2500 after the swirl flaps damage your Pistons

You can always remap the engine with will gain loads more torque and power
