135i stage 1 beginner !

Post by Dunn2621 » Mon Jun 11, 2018 7:26 pm

Good evening,

I am considering giving my 2010 N55 135i a little more oomph !
Do you think a Cobb stage 1/2 system would be a good choice ?
As I don’t do track days or go particularly mad will I need to do any mods ?
A little research seems to indicate a new chargepipe at least would be a good idea,if that’s the case which one would you suggest for ease of fitting as I’ll be doing that myself.

I would personally go with mhd stage 1 as cobb no longer support our platform. Mhd is cheaper and the maps are updated regulardy, I have had it on mine for about a year and can't fault it

Hi,

As a newbie to this do you map the car the same with MHD as you would with Cobb by plugging into the car with a unit ?
How much is the MHD remap ?
What sort of figures do you get ?
Do you need any upgrades to run stage 1 ?

Thanks for your help and advice !

Stage 1 requires no extra hardware
Stage 1+ recommends a fmic

Stage1+ roughly 350-370 bhp dependent on fuel

I would recommend an upgraded charge pipe

I think it was about £260 for stage 1 maps and yes you use the obd port to remap the car, pretty straight forward. It's an android based platform so you can look on play for me details or go to twisted tuning's website
