YT user ST220 been busy filming in his m240i AT with jb4.

Example below is rolling start v E92 m3 DCT.

TBF I would have expected for the M140i to pulled more distance than that.

Was tempted to look at the JB4 route, combined with a supersprint mid pipe, sports cat and MPE. Do you need to have any custom maps done and is there a certain requirement of what stage mod you ideally need to be at for each map on the JB4?

Might be stupid questions...apologies if so...

No daft Q's just daft A's !!!

Assuming mx40i - map 1 and 2 will work with standard car but map 2 may benefit from DP upgrade.

MPE and midpipe are for extra noise only so will work in any map

Correct, an M240i. A mid pipe tempts me purely for the noise, as you say (I have the MPE on my M135i but want a little more noise, however love the look of the carbon M tail pipes).

I was then going to look into the sport cat options for the noise and power gains, in conjunction with a JB4. There is just so many to choose from, then reading the something on another thread regarding a JB4, it lost me haha. So for maps 3 / 4 etc, you'd need to have an upgraded DP too?

Here's the map definitions for the f series.

Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: Additive target, around 4psi over stock.
Map 2: Additive target, around 6psi over stock. Suggested for those with 93 octane and bolt on modifications. Also good for small E85 mixtures.
Map 3: Progressive methanol mapping, absolute target of 11-20psi based on meth flow, meth additive setting, and average ignition values.
Map 4: Stock performance with JB4 active for logging only.
Map 5: Autotuning map, absolute target of 11-17psi based on octane and conditions.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas map. Absolute target of 18.5psi. Requires straight unleaded race gas.

B58 specific JB4 map guide below:

Map 0: Disable JB4 all together
Map 1: Suggested performance map
Map 2: A little more aggressive than map1 for bolt on mods and higher octane fuels or octane booster
Map 4: Stock tuning with CANbus active for logging and diagnostics
Map 7: Water/Methanol Injection map

They are folks running map 2 on stock Mx40i with SUL and getting superb gains in terms vbox certified acceleration.

Personally, I think JB4 map 2, BCS sport cat DP and BCS midpipe with either stock rear box or M235i MPE [retains LH valve] would be the way to go.....If using m235i MPE, perhaps ask BCS to fit a midpipe to it to ensure fit etc....

Yep sorry lol, as BP says B58 is slightly different.
