Gap Insurance, yes or no?

Post by Scottwb1 » Wed Nov 22, 2017 9:53 pm

Don’t want to take up the dealership gap insurance and have purchased a Disklok that will be using and now having second thoughts on whether to take up gap insurance.

Who have people used and what sort of price as know will be able to get cheaper than dealer.

Still undecided but with all the reports of stealing is it a no brainer!

ALA Gap Insurance best value by far...
£214 3yr back to invoice plus policy on full retail of over £35k
Difficult to put a price on peace of mind but the difference between this and what a stealer offers is chalk an cheese!
Be wary of the deals and policy terms though... Back to invoice is just that, any discounts u received on the purchase are not covered by the policy.
The "plus" policy will pay the FULL retail price on a valid claim
At present....118D LCi2 F20 in Sunset Orange, Previous... 218d M Sport Auto. Comfort, Driver, Basic Nav, M Sport pack, Black panel Estoril Blue... Previous... E87 118d SE Auto 5dr Mineral Grey Comfort.

Definitely worth getting, I paid just under £200 for mine but that's with an unlimited limit on a 430i.

I used these guys last time, really good service.

For the sake of a couple of hundred quid it saves you being massively out of pocket in the event of a total loss. On well specced up car, you'd like only get a minimal pay out for any options if the car was stolen or written off.
