Hey y'all!

Just a quick one, my dealership have been sending many quality enhancement messages out to f20/f21/f30/f31/f35 owners regarding a FEM software update

It's basically a software update for the exterior lights or something so I'm told, just minor nothing big :)

Anyway, you may want to check with the local stealers if yours is due as some may take a long time to contact you, or you could even wait till any service items are due :)

Failing that, post your last 7 chassis number digits on here or via pm to me and i'l happily check it for you :)

Just thought I'd let you all know just incase ;)

Does it sort the huge lack of actual light projected by the cars lights? If so I am definately pm'ing you once I work out where the VIN is lol

I just spent £60 buying better bulbs - its worked to a degree but I still think the light projected is poor compared to previous cars.

I'd expect it's an update for the very hit and miss operation of the auto lights and wipers.

Cheers
Lee

Software update to stop premature failure of the FEM module which can cause erratic wiper and/light operation and lack of control/failure of these components

Is this a auto lights/wipers only thing or does it hit everyone?

Only vehicles within a certain vin selection are affected but no it's not just for auto lights/wipers

My car has just been in the dealers and has had a software update, so far I have noticed:

1) The screen inbetween dials now has a BMW graphic when you get in and out of the car. :)

2) when the car stops under start stop conditions, if you press the engine button it turns the engine to OFF from READY but everything else now stays on where it used to kill everything. :)

3) Reversing seems better, feels like the engine is running a little richer and makes tight, slow reverse manovers easier where it used to be a little stuttery. :)

4) The car generally feels a little smoother to drive, obviously tweaked the engine settings. :)

Plus I'm sure it has done other stuff, I noticed it straight away though and glad I've got it :)
