Two of my sets are in aftetmarkets, shouldn't be an issue.

I'm sure TRL would sort you some at cost, but you'll still find them cheaper on eBay.de due to the exchange rate.

That's true however for in relation to s new car purchase the difference may be negligible for the simplicity of gettin everything done in the same place

Does anyone know if I can fit the sensors straight on to aftermarket wheels? What's the process? Easy? Looking to get some dare alloys

I've got a set of sensors on my new set of wheels but my car doesn't have the equipment to read the pressures. When the tyres come off (might be a while) they will be up for grabs.

Hi guys, toying with the ideas of swapping the standard rims on my '16 F21 M135i LCI for some BBS beasts but got a bit freaked out about potential TPMS issues with bongs n warnings etc.. read earlier in this thread that there are aftermarket (RDC?) sensors available but the links appear to be dead :( anyone got a link that works?
Also, is it realistic to consider effin the sensors off and just living with the bongs n warnings? I guess there is a way to cancel the bongs n warnings, or do they stay on and drive you nuts?!

The TPMS can be coded out while running wheels that don't have the sensors. You will still get a warning if you get a flat as it works off the abs sensors.

You can code the ABS TPMS system back on?

Just swap them from 16's to BBS. BBS rims will accept BMW TPMS sensors (but BBS replicas won't).

Yep, I can change to the older RDC flat tyre monitoring that doesn't require TPMS sensors.

The bongs aren't that bad - just one when you start the car and the iDrive screen flashes up a warning which is cancelled with one click. You then get the yellow '!' light in the instrument cluster but no more audio (until the next time you get in).

Only thing is it might show 1000 instances of TPMS error in the fault log if the dealer ever checks it!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the great responses and advice. Have decided to just run the new wheels without the sensors and deal with the bongs until rubber needs replacing, and then I'll get a set of used sensors from eBay to fit to them then. Want to keep the sensors in the original wheels so I can swap without the faff of dealing with valve swaps or bongs! lol
I think there was a used set of sensors for only about £80, so it's no biggie.

Here is the rims I picked up today (well, yesterday now);

On a separate note, I really hope they fit ok!! :shock:
