Sport mode Vs Sport +

Post by Salad » Fri Jan 06, 2017 5:27 am

So what's the difference then?

I have put it in sport+ And got the car sideways which felt lovely but yesterday I did the same and felt it resisted slightly ( I was properly sideways at the time) but never the less I thought sport + removed all safety nets!

Any thought guys?

Sal

Sport + is basically Sport mode plus dynamic traction control on which gives you more wheel slip.

Taking all the nannies off required you to hold down the dsc button I believe.

OP, DSC, Nannies.... WTF?????

I'm lost, Come on fellas keep it simple.... All I want to do is hang the ass out and not be restricted, maybe I'll ask the question another way...

Question: how do I get my 1Series BMW M sport totally sideways without the feeling the the cars electronics are restricting it in anyway. I.e what setting do I need it on? ( no acrimims please just tell me what to press )

Cheers
Sal

Hold down the DTC button for 5+ seconds, you are now entirely on your own!

Marco Polo you are a genius, that's exactly what I wanted to hear, thank you that man!

As an aside... When Howard Marks (Aka Mr Nice) was doing what he did.... the Colombians use to call him Marcos polo. I would recommend Mr Nice as good read.

Cheers man

If your going solo without any of the cars safety features please don't try and be a hero.
I lost and killed a 1er with the DTC disabled. Costly but a lesson learned.

I wouldn't advise trying to be an amateur drift king at this time of year unless in a M135i unless you've had some driver training and especially on a public road because:

A) you'll probably end up writing your car off
B) you could end up colliding with another vehicle as I've seen before
C) death to somebody hopefully not an innocent motorist or pedestrian

Stick to being a driving hero on a track.

Come on fellas where your sense of fun and a little bit of danger...!?

Of course I'd be safe and considerate to other road users but what's the point of buying the only rear wheel drive in it's class If you can't hang the ass out... This is the point surely..,!???

I think they're just trying to save you a big bill, one drift into a curb usually means a grand's worth of rear suspension repairs/re-alignment.

DSC OFF can mean the car is a little frisky in winter, lots of torque + short wheelbase. Maybe try giving it the beans in an icy car park?
