that customer has since spoken to us about the issue.

Again the steering lock is relatively useless if you have the key and can turn the steering. Once the lock can be turned facing the drivers door it is very easy to get off.

Locksmiths forums have already noted how easy these are to remove in situ.

Do you have any of these for a 320d e92.

I can tell you for a fact that disclock does not work and that software update is useless. I've got a post up on bimmerforums, but basically i had my e92 stolen a couple of months back with the windows smashed and gone in 60s. Had another attempt 3days ago, and as recommended on bimmerforum i had relocated the obd and put window tints. Basically heard window smash and wen i went outside car was being driven off but the idiot smashed into the drive pillar, and 2 ran. There was a grey long cable left on the passenger footwell.

This is getting absolutely ridiculous and my mate had his stolen and he had one of those disclocks.

Are you willing to travel to southampton to work on my car?

Why do you need a "stop lock" if your OBD isn't there???? Your paying to protect something that isn't there

Wouldnt it be best to put it back in the original position and have this lock put on? As having it moved certainly didnt help

BMW have to adhere to OBDII standards which means the port has to be located within a certain disctance of the steering wheel. The whole point of this product is to retain BMW warranty, ease of maintenance and best of all security. To make it as hard as possible for these criminals to drive away with your pride and joy.

You'd be suprised as to how many BMW owners have no idea of this problem. Stock is very limited as the 3 series has been very popular. West Midlands police have approved this as a deterrant and have even fitted it to their undercover bmw's even though these are highly unlikey to be nicked.

The reason for the delay on the 1 series is simply down to lock design, as the spacing is very different and allows a deeper barrel apparently. Feedback as and when. We have a list of 98 Preorders for the 1 series we want to fulfill as soon as possible.

The product is a DIY fit so no need to bring the car to us. Although you are more than welcome to visit us. We've got some great offers on the 3 series tuning

Well i must say hats off to you lewis, you certainly know your stuff. Both my car and my brothers had a tune by lewis and i can say how amazing it feels and although I had a performance map i got 6mpg more on my way back home

The obd lock is sweet and over the weekend my neighbour did not have to park in front of me on the drive as i felt reassured. I shall certainly be using you in the future it was well worth the trip(as well as the free chilli chips)

My brother has had non stop problems with his 1 series since he bought it and for the first time in 3 years he seems content. Next time i'm up you will have to take me out for a spin on that amazing dc2.

Am I the only one who has a hunch that there is more to doc bmw and NVM than doc is leading us to believe?

Don't know about that. But I'm still not buying one  a hidden key switch and some wire for the can high and low has done the trick. And it cost less than £10. I can activate and deactivate the OBD port with a key as and when I need the port

Just to clarify. The DOC_BMW is a customer who travelled from southampton with his brother. They booked in for a Stage 1 remap and DPF delete. Both were individuals not associated with NVM.

We took them out in the Supercharged Peugeot Track car and showed them the DC2 which is undergoing some engine changes.

The 3 series OBD stop is sold out yet again, but should be available from Sytner BMW very soon as an approved accessory.

Interesting.

Is it going to be 'Sytner Approved' or 'BMW UK Approved' or both?
