For patio doors would it not be sufficient to put an anti-snap just on the first door? Second door cant be opened if the first door isn't already.

I based my lock choice on reviews, YT videos and a few other factors and I didn't go for the Avocet ABS in the end. Not going to say which I got on a public forum but as Marco says any of them are good.

Also try and swap your door handles to PAS24 anti snap versions which are a lot beefier than standard.

And put some sash jammers onto your windows using araldite and screws as well. Every little helps!!

Just be sure the 3 star lock you purchase is BS (British Standard) 3 Star TS007.

There are some locks on the market that have 3 (what appears to be) stars however have never been tested to BS standard. There are only 3/4 Locks that achieve this standard.

If you need any help feel free to drop me a pm.

As Marco has posted, they only work on doors & windows that open outwards.

They work on either window/door opening, I have them on all windows and doors, some open in, some out and the patio doors slide. For the ones opening in the jammer just goes on the frame and for out they go in the window bit. :)

Surprisingly useful in everyday life on the doors as well as you can close just one to act as a temp lock, e.g. if working outside, washing car etc when going in/out.

Got ours off ebay for not much money.

Did you get the 10 sash jammers for under a tenner from eBay? Seen these myself, but am dubious of the quality for the price?

Yes the 10 packs on ebay, but they were £20 for 10, quality wise they are excellent even though they look a bit naff in the pictures.

Similar to these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-x-Sash-Jam ... 51ae63da87

They look cheap but are actually solid metal and quite heavy. I use ours everyday going in/out the front door and they never show signs of wear and always feel decent to use. Handy to use as a door stop during the evening as well if you haven't locked the door.

They are normally made by Schlosser Technik and you get all the fittings with them.

I also araldited them to the frames as the Police give that advice out - so araldited (epoxy resined) and screwed into the frame.

They won't stop anyone if they smash the window/s even using lockable ones, this is more to stop people trying to use a spade etc to jimmy the windows/doors open. Not sure if this is true or not, but it helped in my decision to fit them - https://absolutelocks.co.uk/attempted-b ... h-jammers/

And even if they smash the windows they still have to locate the jammers and undo them which gives you extra time to call the Police.

Good stuff. 8)

Small tip on the screws you get with them - they are self drilling screws that have a drill bit element built into them so you can screw them right through the plastic frame and into the metal underneath. I found it easier to drill some small 1 to 2mm pilot holes using a tiny drill bit first. Otherwise they can fire off in all directions!!

Also check before drilling where the window/door lock mechanism is.
