Valeting/Protection

Post by ammo23 » Sat Oct 21, 2017 2:26 pm

Hi guys,

One of my wife’s clients is a valeter and has offered to do my X5 with either Diamond Brite or Guard X...are either of those worth the money - I’m sure Guard X is what came on my last BMW!!

Also, have i left it too late in the year to bother adding protection for the winter?

It’s never to late to protect it, I’ve never used either products but my uncle has guard X on his ford. Doesn’t seem to show any protection. Get onto cleanyourcar.co.uk and get some wax eg collinite which will last over winter and is good. Save your self some money plus tub will last forever too

Depends on what he's charging, you haven't said.

This is purely my own opinion but if a professional valeter is pushing Diamond Brite or Gaurd X I'd question his motives.

Much, MUCH, better products out there.

I agree, much better product...he’s wanting £60 for valet or £100 with the protection added!

I have a box of supagard in my garage from sytners, I could save myself money and use that for now!!

I wouldn’t even use supagard, but that’s my own opinion. I’m doing my car today, going to use, turtle wax car shampoo (£17 for 25ltrs) wheel cleaner (tdg £10.99 makes 3 litres) drying towel (kiln from cleanyourride £20) autogylm super resin polish and then waxed with infinity waxs New Diablo Wax £25. But it’ll last for a few years or a few cars! Have a look on clean your ride, he does sample sizes so don’t have to buy the full product and not like it, and tdg I have a code for 15% off ASH15.

For £100 it’s okay if applied correctly but there’s much better products available.
