Time for a new car...

Post by mrash » Thu Nov 23, 2017 5:40 pm

So having had the XF since March, I’ve a new job that doesn’t require high mileage, so no company car.

Does babybmw still have its tame car sales genius? I don’t recall his name, but I’m considering several options for a new car. Hoping to ditch diesel too :band:

Then - M235i, M135i, 120d M Sport Coupe, Subaru Impreza, Toyota Celica T Sport 190, VW Golf GTi Mk4, Saxo VTR

Not sure I just need a car for January.
Initially got taken in by 0% offers for 420i but they went.
Considering :-
X1
Tiguan
Golf GTi

Looked at the M240 too but the insurance is a biatch as I’m coming out of a company car scheme, but had a non fault accident last year.

TRL can often do some stonking deals on 335d's, if that tickles your pickle?

Golf GTi sounds like the most fun out of those. :)

RemyRoc have the new Golf R, as you know, if you wanted some personal opinions. And they used to run M135i so can compare, I would imagine. ;-)

To be honest I had a gti as a hire car in Germany a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. The R has some great lease deals but the insurance is just a bit ridiculous 😂
I’ll only be driving around 8k miles a year so a petrol car is a preference. I’m open to ideas to be honest. Might even look at used cars 🙈

Gti is a great all rounder. Needs a big discount though and mfgv figures are set very low.

Where are you based? I know dealerships in the South who would when I was looking a couple of years ago but obviously lots can change. There were a few who discounted quite a bit through CAR Wow as well.

Cupra 300 - cheap as chips to lease, all the fun of a GTI but with Golf R performance (actually quicker once rolling  )

Edit: Huge demand though so 6 + months waiting list :(
Now - E92 M3, DCT, Comp Pack, Alpine White.

Gone - 2016 M135i
