Would this make it a lot harder for the M47 to pass MOT, as I was thinking of possibly getting one in the future, I'm pretty sure they have no DPF which I won't have to worry about but it means more emissions.

Nah, because it doesn't have a DPF means it will have to pass an easy-ish 'Euro 4' test. They can't retrospectively apply impossible tests, or force people to fit DPF's to cars which weren't designed to have them.

Only later engines will have to pass at stricter 'Euro 5' and 'Euro 6' emission (DPF) limits.
