See the news last night showing the Anti-Trump protesters opposite Trump tower in NYC? There was some scaffolding with an Omega sign on it. Thats where I got my watch!!! (which is why I paid full price cos it's on 5th Avenue!!! )

Any other watch fans on here? - part 2

Post by mattwilko92 » Fri Aug 25, 2017 6:22 pm

Well i ended up ordering a Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch (005 hesalite version). I tried the ‘first omega in space’ on and found it was a bit small, the lug size for strap being 19mm is the cause of this. The Speedmaster pro felt perfect, wore similar size to my Seamaster PO but a bit slimmer.

Have to wait till Wednesday for it to come. Disadvantage to a bank holiday!

Anyone know much about Rolex's? Which models hold their value best and are there any that don't hold their value well?

Once again I'll be looking to buy as cheaply as possible which will probably be second hand (with all original documents of course).

I quite like this; Yacht Master II

2008 Porsche 997 911 Carrera 4S. Black. Factory fit Aero kit

Gone: 2012 BMW F20 118d sport Alpine White
Gone: 2005 BMW E87 120d sport Japan Red

The YM is a bit of a marmite watch, it really splits opinion and from what I hear doesn't hold value like the more classic designs. I could be wrong.

What about a GMT for a desirable Rolex with a bit of colour?

Explorer I is my favourite Rolex at the minute, if only I had the cash for one :D

Guys, your opinion please.
It's my 10th wedding anniversary in a few weeks and thinking of buying my wife a watch.
I've short listed the following:

1) omega Seamaster
Image

2) Rolex Oyster perpetual
Image

I like the omega because it has the date and diamonds in the face.
I like the Rolex because... its a Rolex!
The omega is around £900 cheaper.

My wife was looking at the same Rolex, but she ended up going for this:

Apparently it goes with more things, so I'd have a look if I was you! I must admit, the dial really pops in any light, it's beautiful.

Well she doesn't dislike purple
I did wonder if there might be issues with what outfits purple would go with. Not something i normally worry about!
It does also come in Blue or White.

It's actually a grape colour in real life. Still nice, but I'd get the Omega, if it's just down to those two.
