Keep it to Sport (with Comfort Drivetrain), or dare I say practice with DSC OFF. It's the super-sensitive throttle and abrupt/aggressive gear changes in Sport+ that catches most off guard.

Any sort of sideways impact involving front wheels may damage your alignment and steering rack. I had a similar occurrence in black ice and my steering wheel was off centre to drive straight ahead. End result was around £5500 through insurance. But £400 excess...

Personally pay for the repairs yourself.

I'm based in Leicestershire and when I had a crash in my Audi, 6years ago, I took it to http://fixautoloughborough.co.uk/en/man ... d-bodyshop (Audi Approved) who did a fantastic job and even sorted out other body work issues within the quoted price.

I know they aren't BMW approved however worth a phone call.

As for the wheels I'd be tempted to buy some new ones. Good luck.

Arent having repairs completed at bmw approved garages neccessary to maintain the warranty on the car?

I took the car to Leicester BMW this morning and the guy from the bodyshop said there was suspension damage to the front and rear, with both wheels needing to be replaced. Just waiting for an official estimate before deciding if i'll pay or go through insurance.

I did ask about getting the car done at a local place, however would void the cars warranty completely.

Looks like you will have to get your insurance involved unfortunately. With the added suspension damage BMW's quote isn't going to be nice to hear.
Hope you can get it sorted with relatively little pain.

Fairly realistic I'm afraid and at 100 quid per hour labour. You might need to sit down twice come insurance renewal.

That may well be a write off. Market value of 25k maybe with 14k of damage. Insurer will be able to sell that on for more than 11k.

EU block exemption means that any VAT registered garage can service a car without voiding the (manufacturer's) warranty provided genuine parts are used.

Does this extend to accident repairs? I'd be looking to find out and getting an estimate from a recommended garage if so.
