It is actually really interesting you said that, because today after posting this I went out in the car and they seemed hotter than normal and the temp was set to 28 degrees for some reason.

It hadn't been long enough for the climate control to have warmed up yet the seat and wheel felt hotter.

Perhaps it genuinely could be linked to the climate control?

Otherwise it will be back to the dealer because mine are far from hot.

Mine burn my bum on setting 3 and only short journeys for me so maybe get yours looked at.

I only had mine for the Wife as I'm always bloody hot, I drive in a t shirt with climate on 18, wife and kids use heated seats and wear jumpers :)

I tried heated seats on a test drive car and even the lowest setting was blistering my back.

Compared to my previous 2010 e92 the 2016 lci f21 seats get warm enough but take too long.
Also the wing mirrors take an age to clear.
Used to have warm bum and clear mirrors by the end of my road now it's a couple of miles.
Would interested to know if the difference is down to coding, hardware or something else...some efficency cack or product separation
Probably..

Mine get really hot as well, I can't see I'll ever use anything other than the lowest setting. I'd get a sweaty back and arse otherwise ;)

I suppose the problem with this is one man's boiling is another man's tepid. I would never say that mine are boiling, they seem significantly weaker than the X1. The best heated seats I have had were in my Fiesta ST, if someone in the passenger seat was pissing me off I could turn it on and practically scold them.

I'm following this one with interest. 3 out of my last 4 cars had heated seats. Ranked in order from hottest/best to worst:

M140i LCI, 2015 Fiesta ST, M140i Shadow Edition

I don't know whether the difference between my 2 140s is manufacturing variances or a change in design.

I can only compare this to my dads Mitsub. Outlander and my Cupra 290, my current M140 is deffinitely hottest and also quickest to get worm!

If left for a long time on a decent run mine seems to get warm. But never to the point where I feel I need to turn it off. I could do with finding someone with a "hot" M140 and comparing.

As for the steering wheel that's just rubbish. The X1 burns your hands and I love it, this barely warms them. Although I was thinking about it, the X1 is manual and so when my hands are on the wheel they full grip the rim, with the M140 since I'm always in manual mode only my thumb and finger are on the rim, the other three fingers rest on the paddles so that could explain why it doesn't warm me up as much.

I'm not far off transitioning into winter attire. That will mean hat and gloves every day until around march 2018 :x

I really do not do well with the the cold

Mine take too long to warm. This is the first car I have had with heated seats and wheel and by the time they have heated, my body heat would have warmed the seat sufficiently to be comfortable without heated seats.

The wheel also seems to take an age to get to a decent temperature. Once warm, yes they are OK, but it just takes too long.

Bit off topic but still in the warming stuff on cooler mornings vein... Anyone else noticed the mirrors taking too long to clear on a dewy/icy morning too..or is it just me
Maybe theres a relation in the power given to these processes in the 1er
Wonder if anything can be turned up in the coding
