Michelin tyres are really good, but I don't think they're worth the price premium over GoodYear or Continental. You can't really go wrong with any of the performance tyres offered by premium brands.

Now I have been offered a set of used MPSS tyres. Rears have 6mm and front 5.5mm for £230, is it worth a punt?

My Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 rears have been pretty good. A little more slip in the dry than the PSS but behave really well. Once warm i can't fault them at all. Really stick. They feel bettter over bumps than the PSS

Ok, I have replied to my insurance email to get clarification.

As I understand their reply they did not state it had to be an approved tyre, just one to the same specification?
Car Manufacturers are not allowed to state specific tyre manufacturers this is against consumer rights.

They can and do state tyres must meet required specification, again these will be standard specification for car, normally based on tyre size for wheels which will be width and profile (this ensures tyre doesnt run on suspension parts (too wide) or bodywork (too tall) . And also speed and load factors, which are important for m240i .

Ive tried a few and a fan of GY eagle assy. Good in wet but very soft and wear quickly. Think got 4k miles out my 335i

In summary buy to spec . This is different from recomendation !

I have goodyear F1 Assy 3s on my Focus ST. Not the same car by any means, but I'm pleased with how they are. So much better than the Hankooks I had on before.... But I suppose that's a given lol.

Goodyears for me, had mine nearly 12 months now. So quiet in comparison to Michelins that came with the car and wearing well. Would buy again.

I've been running the goodyears for 4000 miles and they're fantastic. Much better than the runflats that were on there!
