Sorry meant to report back. The noise meter proved nothing however my girlfriend felt the car was quieter and less crashy if that helps :)

What I can say is the car feels more planted and turn in and grip is also better

I highly rate the F1's too, I found they were excellent throughout their lifecycle and even when close to the wear markers still performed quite well. They seem to wear well and perform well in all weather. When they did start to lose grip it was very easy to know when. This was on a FWD Megane RS though. Alternately the factory Dunlop Sportmaxx were excellent for the first couple of mm of wear. After that they were dreadful!

Does any know if the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is a dual compound tyre like the Super Sport?

No, it's not.

The confusingly and similarly named Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is dual compound though, but only available in 19" & 20"

Thanks Marco.. That's what i wanted to hear.. I would prefer it not to have the soft compound outer which wears down in 5 seconds of hard cornering...

I would gladly sacrifice some soft compound grip to have better outer wheel wear :D
