Just got a re quote saying locked garage...made £0 difference. Taking wife off raised it by £80!
Adding MPE added £100!

This is a weird game
Do you want a good laugh, I added exhaust system just to check it added £5,000 to the price I sh*t you not.

I nearly fell of my chair, managed to get all mods listed for £1500 not the cheapest but best I could get.

That's a lot of cash . Fair few mods I guess but I haven't really ever looked at insuring that many . Hate waiting to hear the price when I call them lol

Jeez, some expensive quotes. Quite good to be old sometimes. I'm 47, and I'm on my missus' (couple years older) insurance for the M140i Shadow - she has 20+ NCB, unprotected NCB, parked on drive - total £244 (up £51 from a F56 Cooper S), but we've opted for a high excess - £650 total - I'm quite comfortable with the risk. Looking at the link on previous page, we are in an "E" area so I'm quite chuffed with our insurance for sure. Direct Line

Hastings Direct for me, very reasonable

Hatings Direct looking the best bet for me too coming in at £753 (27yo, 9 years protected NCB, medium risk postcode), cheaper than I currently pay on my 2015 320d M-Sport actually...can't find it any cheaper anywhere, tried calling A-Plan but they can't get close to Hastings.

Bmw insurance, £490 with full no claims parked in drive age 48. If damaged no quibble will be a full Bmw repair with Bmw parts.

Guys, it's cheaper to say it's parked on the street than the drive, more cars get nicked off your drive than the street!

Best quote I've had so far was from Admiral. £503. 34 years old with 12 years no claims. That's on a 3 door Shadow with value of £32,000. Excess of £350, protected no claims and motor legal cover. And my partner added as an extra driver. DirectLine wanted £850. BMW Insurance wanted £750ish. Annoying as I don't pick the car up until end of October and don't know the reg yet I can't purchase and Admiral won't even extend the quote for me. They said I'll have to do a new quote nearer the time and hope it's same or less.

Still seems quite a lot to me though. Although I had a little banger 1.2 Fiesta before this that I used to pay £180 a year on. I knew it would be more but I thought it would be around £300ish?

Do you really have to inform the insurance company if you fit a MPE? Seems a bit silly. It's just a back box. Where do you draw the line? Do I have to tell them if I replace the spark plugs or tyres for different ones? Joke obviously. But you wouldn't seriously though would you?

I'm sure if a bird sh*t on your car then you had an accident they'd find a way not to pay out, I hate insurance companies. When it's time to pay out you get screwed over.
