Mine was at 28.5 mpg for the first 4 tanks running it in. After resetting the obc it has creeped up to 33.5 since (2750 miles)

I’ve had my auto 135i for 3 months now. I have it in sport 90% of the time and use the paddles 70% of the time. The most I’ve saw is about 31mpg then started averaging about 20mpg. Eventually I just stopped checking the mpg and now I’ve got JB4 with decat and mapped to 408bhp so I definitely won’t be checking the mpg anytime soon

I have an m135i and drive a good mixture of roads and use cheap/expensive fuel and I average 30 mpg, I think it’s quite good with the performance.

My m140i was averaging 24mpg. I think the manual gearbox really kills economy.

M140i Auto.

My commute is only 10 miles.

On the way to work it's mostly downhill, Mixture of A and B roads. If I try drive as carefully as possible and using eco pro, then I'll get 40-42 mpg.

The same journey in my 120d a few years ago would be 70+ mpg.

On the way home (mostly uphill), again driving as carefully as possible I'll get 32-35 mpg.

Driving what I would consider as normal in comfort would get around 25-28mpg.

Driving a little quicker or in sport/sport +, below 25 mpg.

M140i manual here - averaging 24 mpg. Agree with kylemacca above - manual clearly seriously reduces the economy.

But its so much more fun :)

In fairness I drive mine like I stole it, so I'm actually quite pleased with 24.

Another manual 140 here, 25 mile each way commute 3 times a week other 2 day’s local, if driven steady then 30 ish to the gallon, agree manual seems to kill economy & really not good on short trips.............but it’s all about smiles per gallon :D

Really? thats shocking, ill get high 30's, cruise at 75 with eco pro and some chill out tunes on the HK.
After I put a Cat Back on, my MPG dropped by 20% ish. And I never use eco-pro, Normally cruise at 80 in comfort. I rarely do motorway miles as I have a work vehicle with a fuel card for that :)
Interesting that the cat back ruins the tune of the motor! At a cruise of 80 ill be getting mid to low 30's. You are a manual yes? They rev a lot higher in top then I assume
I bought mine M135 in manual on Friday and as soon as I hit motorway I was checking twice if I'm in 6th gear. My audi a4 2.0t had 68mph at 2000rpm while M135 58mph. I know this is performance car but for god sake its suggesting 5th gear when I do 30mph. These gears are ridiculously short! Anyway on my way back from Warrington to Harrogate through m6 and a59 car achieved 38mpg and I could do more but I pushed it to 6000rpm few times. Average speed was only 49mph. Last 2 days on really short distances (2 miles) returned about 19mpg.

Yep - 8th gear is a big advantage for economy on a steady cruise. The B58 Auto is also higher geared than the equivilent M135i. It's been discussed before...

I work 60 miles away from where I live, so it's all motorway stuff for me, meaning I can see anywhere from 32 to 48mpg, depending on traffic.
When it's used for play time on the weekend, that average drops down to about 15mpg
Current: 2017 M140i F20 in Estoril Blue 'Lydia'

Gone: F20 118d M Sport in Estoril Blue 'Bex'
2 laps of the Nurburgring completed, 136mph achieved (autobahn), 48k miles covered

My first impreza back in 1995 was a full prodrive model and I had a short ratio diff and upgraded tarmac gearbox. It did 118mph at 7000rpm, now thats a short ratio car :) The cost of the car was double retail with all of the options I had.

Your mpg on that is really good, id be more than happy with that. Driving like miss daisy and these cars are actually very economical. Its wating in traffic, stop/start and having fun that simply throws fuel away. My last impreza was 330bhp and 330ft/lb and i averaged 18mpg with similar driving to mine today, i average around 29mpg across the last few tanks.

Today I needed to drive to work to Leeds. 34 miles return trip in moderate traffic gave me 33mpg. 90% eco pro 10% sport. Considering I had to stop about 15 times on red light that's not too bad. I had a Passat v5 2.3 a few years ago and that was returning same mpg with 170hp.
