M4 Wheels

Post by LeChuck » Sat Dec 09, 2017 3:45 pm

Hi,

I love the M4 Competition pack wheels (666M) and was thinking of buying a set for my 240 and keeping my 436s for winters. However I have really no idea about wheel sizes/offsets/etc and don't know if they would be suitable. Anybody able to give me more info on this or point me to a good source so I could read up?

Also, what tyres would be a good choice for these? Presumably they would be much lower profile than stock due to the different wheel size.

Cheers!

20" wheels aren't going to fit, they're also too wide and have too little offset.

I guess you could buy some of the smaller fakes?

I’d advise you don’t bother. Just got rid of mine after having a short stint of having them on. Ruined the cars feel and performance IMO. Had 19/8.5 et 40 all round. Was a sacrifice of style over substance that I just wasn’t happy with.

Thanks for the replies. I had it in my head the originals were 19" somehow!

I did look for some replicas and found these on eBay: 19" 666M M3 Competition Style Wheels Gun Metal Machined BMW 5x120 F20 F21 F22 although they are only 1/2" narrower than the 666Ms.

I also saw some 18" replicas on Gumtree that looked promising but the listing had expired and I haven't been able to find anywhere else selling them yet. I'll keep looking for something closer to the stock geometry. For £500 a set its cheap enough that I can try them out and not lose too much money selling them on if they don't work out.

they do them in 18s but the rears are too wide so you have to buy 2sets to run fronts all round

D6EML runs them on here.

There a lovely looking wheel but if you want them on your car your going to have to go for the replicas .
I stuck with 18s not wanting to compromise comfort by sticking 19s on with lower profile tyres .
Going with the 18s I’ve reused the mpss stock tyres . Wheel sizes I’m running are 18”8.5j et 35
As tricky said I had to buy 2 sets as the set comes with 9.5 inch rears which are a no go

My wheels came from skidz , based in central Scotland . Drop them an email they’ll help you out mate
