Swapping TPMS sensor to winter tyres 225 40 18, easy as resetting?

Post by yus » Sun Dec 10, 2017 1:07 am

I've tried doing a lot of reading but can't find an answer

Thinking of buying some winter tyres and replacing them on the stock rims , going for 225 40 18 all around

Is it a simple case of swapping over the TPMS sensors and then resetting the system?

Thanks in advance

You’re just swapping over your tyres? If so, you won’t need to worry swapping over the TPMS - they’re already fitted to your stock alloys.

Make sure they put the same wheels onto original corners and that they don't touch the valves and you won't need to reset..

Easy enough to reset if you need to though

Definitely a n00b moment here  I thought the sensors were connected to the tyres and needed swapping over

so all the threads I've read of people complaining about tpms have been when they've changed alloys *facepalm*

Thanks for the replies

Yes tpms sensors are part of the valves.. So if you get new alloys as long as you put oem tpms valves in them they will work assuming they aren't faulty or out of battery
