On looks and tech I would choose the M2 as it looks better/more rounded to me and is more modern.

But on rarity and value I would go for the 1M, will be E30 M3 money eventually.

Tough one as if I was wealthy enough I would would have both along with lots of other metal! In reality I would prefer the modern car if I can only have one but I wouldn’t be thinking of it as an investment like I don’t with any of my cars.

Maybe I will cling on to the current one but possibly not likely as I like hassle free with warranty etc. If I had kept my Clio RS Gordini they only made 5 white ones I’m sure it must be worth more now than what I sold it for in 2011 but hey ho

M2 sod it, then get whatever else is around the corner like the greedy consumers we are!!

Great response and a good mixed view. What is common is they are both crackers and could not believe they were parked together.

You can certainly see the similarities and clear the M2 DNA is based on the 1M.

Love them both tbh. Have always wanted a drive of a 1M.

M2 for me, although if that 1M was in Valencia Orange it’d make it a harder choice.

As an everyday car I'd go M2 just as it has the latest technology. Weekend toy, then the 1M

I'd take the 1M in a heartbeat, love that hydraulic PAS.

If the M2 was the new improved Competition version, that could swing it for me.

Currently looking at M2’s but this pic and seeing an identical 1M in the works carpark on Monday has got me thinking I might up the budget a little........ :)
