hi nick, if its any help to you I got both silencers removed by EMP performance in Hertfordshire a few weeks ago, cost about £200 and was in and out in about 90 mins, Absolutely spot on and professional service!

Sound improvement is a 10/10

Thanks Barney, sounds good - I may have to take a morning off soon and head up there. Any chance you have sound clips? Did they fabricate the piping or is it BMS pipe?

Thanks

yep will try and get a sound clip, it sounds absolutely superb now, lots of pops, snaps and cackles, and you can pretty much turn all that off by putting it into comfort.

They just cut out the 2 silencers and put pipe in its place, they had already done a couple of m140is before mine with the same so were up to speed on doing it quick. no way near as neat and tidy as the BCS midpipe which looks a great piece of kit but the end result for me essentially the same, and can still be reversed if you ever wanted to put the silencers back in.

Yes like others have said, it’s a huge difference. Don’t bring it to down the road type garages. Bring it to a performance specialists. Where abouts are you based

Hello,

I have MPE fitted on my M140i and I chopped of the front oval muffler, the bullet shaped resonator is still on:

FYI be careful who you opt for in doing any mods regarding the centre silencer removal...
took this droning ab*****n off a clients M240i manual yesterday... check out the mild steel welds incomplete.
A one week apprentice could've done a better job. This is by far the worst we've seen.

Car had the MPE installed and the the client required a reduction in the noise and removal of the drone.
We installed the brand new centre delete pipe set with anti drone silencer to solve the issue.
Car now hits the sweet spot with zero drone and the perfect balance of sound between an MPE and full non silenced pipe set.

Cheers

Hahaha, that looks garbage to me! :D

Mine was welded by an exhaust shop, so my exhaust mod is done perfect.

This was done by a well known branded exhaust chain...
I guess they thought the customer would never see it :-(

Thanks again for letting me have a look around your fine establishment yesterday whilst you were working on the m240i Nige. I’m looking forward to here more about the midpipe plus the anti drone silencer as I really want a little more noise, pops and bangs than my MPE alone delivers (whilst not sacrificing the day to day driveabilty or being too antisocial to the neighbours upon cold start at 6.30am). Can’t stop thinking of how beautiful that sports cat looked, shame it’s not visible as looked like a piece of art!
