Going back to the m performance lsd - when you sell on and put the car back to standard any ideas how much the labour would cost do this. Trying to factor this into my calculations over the ownership of the vehicle.

Any group buys as it seems a few of us are interested?

Sorry, I am referring to E8* and not the F2*, apologies for any confusion.

However, if youre looking to remove the MP LSD before selling an F2* youll need to find a standard diff to replace it with, Im guessing they arent that cheap as there wont be amny of them kicking around secondhand :)

You remove the standard diff when fitting the MP-LSD. Mine's in the garage waiting to go back on. It isn't exchanged or fitted in lieu of. You buy a whole new sealed pumpkin and internals to swap out.

Thinking a little bit outside the box, what would it take to fit an e92 m3 diff? To an F series?

The driveshafts aren't split like on the E Series, and the propshaft is different too, so an F Series looks like:

vs

So I'm guessing custom mounts / subrame modifications, customs drive shafts, custom prop shaft, etc?

More hassle than its worth apart from the fact that there are loads of the E series diff's about for a lot, lot less money so you'd need to work out the £ to sort the machining, welding, dynamic balancing, etc necessary.

You can't spec them from the factory, dealer fit only.

They put the stock open diff in your boot, sealed up with yellow plugs ^.

Even on an e82 the prop needs modifying and m3 driveshafts are fitted, so what's the chance of the Shafts fitting and the splines being the same?

Granted it might not work and probably a waste of time but asked the questions 1st

I have just been under a 2013 f21? And the whole back end looks so similar to an 3 series it wouldn't surprise me if the e82 lsd conversion was the same. Job, diff mounts look the same, some one needs to measure both up and see if the drive Shafts fit

I'm sure some where in the future some one will do it
