Well, I've decided to seize the opportunity and get out of the finance game. I do believe one of the main failures in this complaint was the number of people involved and the lack of anyone taking responsibility. If I buy a car outright, it's a clear-cut contract and should the worse happen, i'll just sell the thing without having to worry about negative equity.

After lots and lots of discussion, the Mrs and I have decided now the BMW's gone, we will also sell her car and buy one to share - to save money.

I wanted a Type R, or Megane RS or something along those lines. She wanted an Abarth, so we compromised and we're getting an Abarth

I'd be happy with a little Abarth. Epic little go-carts! Enjoy it when it arrives :)

I'll own the car outright, so i'll likely go independent!

At least you'll expect the fiat to be sh*te, so anything more will be a bonus

I have such little expectations for it, added to the fact I now know all modern cars are built like sh*t... I think it'll be fine!

In all seriousness, they are cool little cars. I drove one at the Autosport show. They do have a driving position that takes a bit of getting used to.

I've been driving the Mrs Panda whilst the BMW has been off the road, so I'm used to the Fiat driving position now! I actually quite like the little Panda

There is a yellow Abarth near us, and when she fires it up in a morning it is very very loud. Brand new 66 plate so I assume it was the optioned dealer fit exhaust.

Sounds the dogs, really good noise, although I imagine very loud to live with. :)

Glad you are all sorted, keep us updated on the Abarth.

Pulling out at junctions in the Auto is one thing that really pissed me off. The power should be on tap, but it's not. My friends 135i is fine, it's the 140 with the issues. Not that it bothers me now as I get an Audi tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how the stronic compares.

Really pleased with this result though. I understand why BMW FS will have stalled. The depreciation on the 140 is horrific!!! Booked price is £21,750

Just watched the video and mine makes the same sound. Sept 16 M240. Not overly concerned mind, company car with warranty. If it goes pop they will need to fix it, c'est la vie!
