Coding for Audio Streaming via Bluetooth

Post by MrTrevorr » Wed Dec 14, 2016 11:00 pm

I've seen a few topics about Audio Streaming via Bluetooth but I haven't seen anyone respond to say they got it working :confused1: (maybe i just didn't look hard enough  ).. I've got a 2013 1 series. I can make and receive phone calls via bluetooth but can't stream music via bluetooth I've got a combo in the boot and a built in sat nav. I was wondering if anyone has the code for audio streaming and does it work fine when coded

Many Thanks

Yup I got mine working after research. Business nav in a 2014 330d. Makes me mad that it isn't enabled by default.

I coded it on the Mrs' car too... you need to code 'Extended bluetooth' in order to stream audio. (This was with pro nav mind )

It involves changing a code in the VO list (6NS or something like that off the top of my head) and then coding that to the car again.

If you search for extended Bluetooth coding in google you'll get lots of results.

Failing that I have got the full details at home if you get stuck.

You need first to ensure you have a combobox.

That's how BMW get another £300-£400 out of you by charging you for enhanced Bluetooth. You can stream music with the regular Bluetooth on later models though.

Out of interest, what does Enhanced Bluetooth give you now?

I coded it on my 2014 M135i to get the streaming bluetooth and album covers, but both of those are standard in my 2017 model. Is there anything else new, or are the differences now mainly hardware?

On my 2013 I have bluetooth streaming but no album covers and cant browse via albums/artists via bluetooth - only next/previous song. Can coding give me the additional browsing functions and albums covers? Car is has enhanced bluetooth option.
