Can the auto box be affected by coding?

Post by Dansta » Wed Jul 12, 2017 9:20 pm

Just my paranoia kicking in here.. but after a day of coding and a quick flight down the local dual carriageway it 'seemed' as though the kick down and limiter had changed?

I'm assuming this is purely psychological.

I've seen people like dd coding doing gearbox updates.. but mines a May 17 car so everything should be up to date and you cant go BACKWARDS in software can you?

Just tell me I'm being a bellend and imagining it pls.

Did you have the gearbox software updated?

Coding can affect the gearbox but only if youchange specific values, so coding the Digital Speedo in the Kombi isn't going to affect the gearbox.

You may have reset the adaptations, that could explain the strange behaviour - run the car for 50-100 miles that should help the gearbox re-learn shift points again.
F21 M135i - AW CR - lots of options.
