Help with IDrive USB Software Update

Post by Liam9993 » Mon Sep 11, 2017 9:50 pm

Hi Guys,

I am attempting to update the software in the settings of my 14' M235i but it just doesn't appear to register the fact the USB it plugged in??

Car is June 2014 build
Downloaded the suggested update off BMW website for my VIN number

The update it suggests is UPD01008

My current version is;
MX-003.004.031
TX-003.004.031

USB freshly formatted to FAT32 as some previous threads recommend and the update file being the only file on the drive.

When i go into settings and software update the IDrive just says there is No USB drive with software update connected.

Any one else done this or had any issues?

Regards

Liam

is the .Bin file in the root of the USB drive?
F21 M135i - AW CR - lots of options.

Hi Wibbles,

There is no other files on there and the bin file is just in the main part of the drive, not within a folder or anything.

Hopefully this is what you mean

Regards,

Liam.

I've heard that the car can take quite a while to recognise the USB, perhaps plug it in and have a nice cup of tea
