Dipping passenger mirror is driving me crazy!

Post by 5678 » Tue Jan 10, 2017 8:20 pm

For the life of me I just cannot get my pass mirror to dip in reverse!

2016 m135i - I do not have folding mirrors...

Coded both options with Carly, despite it being successful the mirror doesn't dip. I've got the mirror switch on the drivers side too.

Any ideas?

As far as I know you either have to have folding mirrors or electric seats for the mirror to dip

I was sure I've seen people post that it works on an lci car without either of those two options?

Not sure about the required options, but you do need to flick the mirror switch to the off side (driver side) for it to dip.

This one (top right), but the switch needs to be set to the driver's side (opposite to below):

Oh okay, I've always understood that you need at least one of those options.

Like others have said the mirror selector needs to be positioned to drivers side mirror for the passenger one to dip

As mentioned in first post, switch was on the drivers side.

Reading on more forums it does seem that most people claim you need electric seats or folding mirrors.

FWIW, I coded the door lights on in reverse and they seem to illuminate sweet FA of use!

It's to do with the memory module. The mirror uses the same memory module to return to the same position each time as the electric seats do. This module is only present if you choose the elec. seats or folding mirrors.

The mirrors have to be rewired onto the LIN bus then coded for this function to work.
F21 M135i - AW CR - lots of options.
