Also no red for a new order. Changed to congac so it's Oyster, Cognac or black.

Hi Tony, new here so apologies if this question has been asked before. I will definitely be ordering an m140 shadow off you, I’m just wondering if I want an 18 plate, can I order it now or do I need to wait until Q1 deals are released next year? Thank you

Whilst we can take deposits and orders for March delivery cars now, there is potentially a price increase due between now and then.
Last time this happened BMW UK did not give price protection beyond the end of Feb which forced customers to either pay it and take the
car in March, or keep the old price but tax the car in Feb before the new plate came out.
That said if you leave it to Jan you would be paying the new price in any case.

So take your pick!

How do you work out the cost of the car incl on the road costs to get below the big car tax threshold? I understand the 40k list price threshold, but when configuring a car on the BMW site, it includes ONTR costs, which would be delivery and 1st year tax I assume? Can anyone advise please?

A 5 door would however the 3 doors are built in tiny numbers and so seem to take longer. I would order a 3 door in November to be safe.
With my deals if a customer wishes to cancel due to change of terms like a price increase we would always refund their deposit as we can always
sell the car on to someone else. I think that you have more to lose by waiting...

M140i Shadow Edition Step Auto M140i Shadow Edition, Automatic, Petrol, Doors Front & Rear
Metallic - Sunset orange
10 additional options
Total RRP
£40,000

...does this push me into the inflated VED bracket or not?!

EDIT:

"Vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000
You have to pay an extra £310 a year if you have a car or motorhome with a ‘list price’ (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000."

Guess that means I'd be ok?

If your list price hits £40,000 on the configuration you’re into high rate VED.

For example a £42k list car knocked down to £35k would still be high rate VED.

It’s based on the list price, not the price you knock the car down to.
F20 M140i Shadow due end of November :D
