Hi TRL, How does this impact the BMW warranty on the car?
There is no conflict as we are not going to be touching mechanical or electrical.
Motech will give a 3 year guarantee on the work that they are doing.
We are adding to the suspension and the exhaust. There will be no interference with the main systems of the car.
And the rest is cosmetic.

There was a case where BMW finance gave a guy with a BMW M4 an ultimatum to return his car to stock or be pursued for the full settlement of his car on PCP after fitting only lowering springs.

He was advised he had broken the terms of his PCP and warranty. He had been complaining about rattles in the cabin.

Very interested in this, however I was pretty sure you couldn’t make any modifications to a car on PCP? Very interested to see where this goes!

I’m not trying to pee on your fire - i totally support what you and motech / Joe are trying to achieve. But many people don’t change suspension or the exhaust due to the fear of BMW invalidating warranty claims. I don’t see how what your doing is any different.

Has the concept been approved by Bmw uk and Alphabet? If so then no issues that I can see.

Thinking about it, they must have approved it. If the car is being paid for by Alphabet then they will know what’s what.

Its not very hard to do the same mods yourself, and they won't cost the earth.

I doubt TRL and Motech are doing the mods for free, so there will be additional costs anyway for those ordering.

I've seen similar ref warranty with another manufacturer - a dealer bundling upgrades and then the manufacturer got very shirty about warranty cover when an issue was escalated.

Especially if the car is recovered to another dealer, or there are staff changes, I'd be worried the owner could be left somewhat high and dry.
