Downpipes for M2

Post by YaoNg » Tue May 15, 2018 8:11 pm

I'm curious to know what DPs people are investing in for their M2.

I've always been keen on Fabspeed since my M235i days but never really got round until now with my M2. What DPs have you chosen and are you happy with your choice?

Black M2 - DCT - black grills - MPE - and a slight wince when I get home late or start early.

I've been looking into this as well and fancy a Fabspeed DP - primarily based on the great reviews I have read about the quality and the fact the it doesn't bring on the CEL.......doesn't look like there is a UK distributor though.....be interested to hear others thoughts

Been running the Fabspeed sport cat DP for over a year now, Zero problems, zero CELs and max audiable pleasure (in tandem with MPE).

Yao,

As you know I have Fabspeed DP to install on my m2 - managed to acquire a - very lightly - used one. I ran BCS 200cpi on my M135i - no issues.

If wanting HJS core as per Fabspeed DP, then Miltek - HJS approved in UK - use HJS 200cpi cores in their DP's.

Hi gents!

We can supply Fabspeed, Wagner and Milltek Downpipe if anyone is looking for one! :)

Here's a link of some of the offering we have currently listed:

https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/search? ... 2+downpipe

All three have great reviews, and Fabspeed ones won’t throw a code!

Best,
Marshall @ ML Performance UK

If you are going remap route then the Wagner 200 (I have this fitted and it made great gains on a standard car as you know) if not going the remap route then Fabspeed because they say no CEL.
Fabspeed is identically equal to Wagner for remap route as both use 200 cores. I dyno’d before and after with DP and got c24bhp uplift to 393bhp with DP+MPE+ITG panel filter from an initial 369 bhp stock reading. Added Wagner IC, ERaceworks Hi-Flow charge pipes and pure turbos inlet pipe and hit 424bhp on same dyno (all on VPower, and using one of the countries most respected dyno dynamics rolling roads). I did it at the same time/dyno as another fellow M2 owner who opted for the Akra 300 cel DP and with MPE and same panel filter he was only showing a 14 gain versus his stock bhp reading.

Not really BP, something I’ve been meaning to do, buying a GoPro is pretty high on my list.

Wagner 200 is cheaper so that's a good sign. I've just realised who you are and twigged that we've been talking on IG.

I’m travelling back from Tx tomorrow and have hi flo inlet pipe to complete the parts to go onto my m2.

Similar list to yours apart from

CSF FMIC and AFE dry drop in air filter.

Intention is to get stock car dyno’d plus some dragy data. Install hardware then repeat dyno and dragy data.

Then I will decide what tune to opt for....

Bish - any 100-200 stats for your car in its current fettled state ?

I’ve attached my graphs, first stock, second DP+MPE+ITG Panel Filter, third is with Wagner IC, HiFlow charge pipes, hi flow pure turbo inlet pipe. All on same dyno.
Car has had zero ECU work, all the work/mods are just about breathing, it goes to show how good the N55 can run when it’s not restricted by a small IC, air filter, 600/800cel DP (cant quite remember stock) and skinny plastic pipes all of which have a tendency to crush under boost pressure.
