Engine Oil

Post by 33whitey » Tue Oct 24, 2017 11:54 am

Hi Guys,

Anyone have any recommendations for engine oil ?

I'm considering supplying my own as my local dealer has booked my car in for the running in service without being able to quote a price. The 4 nearest dealers are all Sytner owned which isn't going to give me the opportunity to shop around.

Err how are they not able to quote? If they are saying it's because the system doesn't recognise your registration number then give them your chassis number.

They are ringing me back with the price but as the 4 nearest dealers are in the same group and they seemed surprised I even wanted to know the price I suspect it ain't going to be cheap 😀

That is hilarious, imagine if that thinking applied to all aspects of life... Morons. Well if it helps my RIS cost £235 but most I've seen are around the £300 mark.

Yep anything up to around £250 - £300 is fairly standard. When I asked it was £290.

Original BMW Engine Oil SAE 0w-30 Twin Power Turbo Longlife-04

It's the OEM oil (made by Shell) used by BMW on all M cars.

Got mine for about £75 delivered from Costwolds (7 ltrs)

I had a call back today saying their pricing system is down and have no idea on price, I sarcastically suggested I'll drop the car down and keep my fingers crossed it's hundreds rather than thousands and he agreed

I don't lose my cool easily but that's taking the mick, I've suggested they go old school and take a look at the book time and tot up the cost of fluids etc to give me a price.

Heap o’ sh*te. So system has been down a few days then. So they’ve not charged anybody in that time either!!

Maybe you’ll be lucky and it’ll still be down when you collect😄
