Thanks Bish, so sounds like I need MPE and the KW coilovers at some point!
I would say from my own experience the very best bang for buck initial mod should be a downpipe - I went for the Fabspeed 200CEL. Adding the DP to the stock exhaust makes the car sound awesome and it was a number of months following before I then added the MPE (which turns it in to a real 'event' car, taking the sound to a new level of awesomeness). The DP really frees up the engine, the turbo is more ready to go all the time and personal before and after dyne results prove the bhp increase - which you will feel in your butt dyne too. The other "for sure" mod has to be the Eibach springs for £180, they drop the car for great visuals and also in my experience, enhance further the stock ride. I'm still running on the Eibachs but have purchased the MPCoils (made for BMW by KW) although not fitted yet.

Buy the car, experience it stock to 1,000 miles, then gradually add your mods post run-in services. Personally, I really enjoyed the "adding as you go" mentality, building up the car at each stage really does allow you to appreciate the enhancement each mod is giving, and makes you feel better from a cash perspective that your money is being well spent.
Agree with the above. I've got a whole host of parts to fit to my M2 but I'm enjoying the car stock for a little while and still running it in.

Very tempted to fit my KW V3's soon however just to get rid of the oem arch gap and fit my downpipe for a bit more noise. The rest will follow once the weather improves.

All this discount talk makes me want to chop in my 6 month old M240 - hate to think what I would lose though even though it has only done 4,000 miles

Fingers crossed I’ve now agreed a price for the sale of my TTS so I’ll be signing up for the M2 Monday. I prefer to conveniently ignore the hit from chopping and changing cars so frequently.

This is it this time, long term car.......

I would say the M2 flies above the radar where as the 240i flies below, which imo is no bad thing.

I to have thought long and hard about an M2 purchase and with TRL's deals I could certainly do it, but as my every day hack I know my 140i is the better option.

BMW are doing a very good job with the M2 and for that I applaud them, but they have also done a very good job with the M135/40 and M235/240 at thousands less, and for that I take my hat off to them.. :)
