Thanks for the photo, I am missing this. I hope BMW can shed some light on this, the car is going in for the first service, so will flag that up with them, too.

So bmw came back but their response seems pretty standardised. Their suggestion:
1. Log out of connected app.
2. Delete data in car.
3. Update idrive software.

Now I did the first and second, according to the internet my idrive software is up to date (site they should have checked that before suggesting) - still no luck. The location service in connected app is still disabled and to switch it on I need an option in idrive which I don't have...

I had this issue on my wifes new 335d - you need to answer a security question online in BMW Connected Drive then log out and log out then log back in and the option will appear in the iDrive - it worked for me......

Hi @2002sportevo, thanks for the tip. I came across it on the internet, but I can't find where to enter a security question on ConnectedDrive online. As a service 'Remote Service' is booked and enabled. And I can lock/ unlock the car and switch on/ off the lights. Just no luck with the Location Service which is really the item I am interested in to keep an eye on where the car is when I am away.

I consider myself computer literate, but this is driving me nuts.

If you use the online version of Connected Drive and then select "Remote Control" and then "Control", you can setup the security question on that page.

Thanks Paulie, found it. Much appreciated, have now set this up and sent to the car, will check later if I can now enable GPS tracking.
That's forum 1: bmw 0.

... Still no option to switch on GPS location. Car is going in for service this weekend. I will let the dealer have a go.

Car back from dealer who fixed it. Apparently there was a service warning which the dealer already had as part of the service paper work.
They did the update and now it's all working.

Hmm... "Configure SPORT"?

I don't remember that option.
