Driving modes question

Post by FishFingers » Thu Mar 29, 2018 2:04 pm

I was just wondering whether acceleration is the same in all driving modes?

i.e. If you floor it in Comfort - would you reach say 100mph as quickly as in Sport or Sport+ (ignoring wheel spin...assume its dry and hot)?

Also, are 0-60 times for DCT done using launch control, or other driving mode?

Mines a manual, but I'm just interested in the answers.

Power of the engine is same in all modes, but speed of transmission differs even in manual mode. 0-100 km/h times are for sure done with launch control.

I wonder what the difference is then for 0-100kmh with and without launch control?

I guess more than 0.5s, but who really cares about 0-100 km/h times? :) I didnt do that rocket start even once in my M2.

Throttle response is definitely best in sport plus. I do find it annoying though that settings set to revert to comfort if you turn off dsc and asr.

I’m the opposite - linear comfort throttle response makes sense with DSC off - on TD’s makes the car more predictable and easier to balance on the power in/thru/out the corners.

Interesting, I'm at Rockingham next week so will try different modes and evaluate.
