M2 M Perf Exhaust

Postby Harmlu » Tue Jan 10, 2017 11:33 pm

So I have the M Perf exhaust, and all I can say is wow!

Does anybody know if fitting it would require cutting? My dealer said that I can have my old exhaust back but it had to be cut to fit new one. I'm a bit sceptical as to if it should have been cut of not.

Yes stock exhaust is cut ahead of the midpipe resonator.

The mpe is a Slip on.

They will supply a clamp. Might I ask when you ordered it?

Just that mpe production has halted temporarily. Only from march new ones will be delivered to dealers.

I ordered it in October I think so I could have it on car for collection.

When I picked it up, they seemed very concerned about the legality of it with the flaps open. I suspect that this may be a reason for change.

I believe the mini JW exhaust has that track mode warning as well. Doubt it's anything to do with legality? Maybe to fix drone issues which seem to be an issue for a number of mpe owners.

Oh some news on the MPE update:

ust seen it on 2er forum (SOURCE)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
* The exhaust system is currently being reworked by BMW, the reason being vibrations on the tailpipes. The revised version is expected to be available again starting in March! *

For the sports mode, no further registration documents are required. The silencer is approved for operation on public roads.
When using the track mode on public roads, the license expires in accordance with the StVZO (Road Traffic Regulations).

Stainless steel or carbon tailpipes must be ordered separately!

Good news, so no change in sound then
